Tell us about yourself.

I am a mom of two great kids, ages 12 and 15, and I’ve been married for 17 years.

How did you get into the interior design field?

I have a Studio Art Degree from the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC. After college I started work for a design firm in Jacksonville, FL. I was a design assistant to eight designers, and manager of their Interior Design Home store. I fell in love with design working for these ladies; they were all creative, fun and taught me so much. I decided to go back to school to get a degree in Interior Design while living in Jacksonville.

What is your favorite design feature at Mason Flats?

There are too many to choose from! I really like the brick accent walls and how the kitchens turned out, especially the waterfall countertops in the two end units. I also really like the shiplap work we did, particularly the bullseye shiplap. (Bullseye: meets at a point in the middle). Another favorite feature is the custom wallpaper we created for the model. There is an accent wall with information and mantras that is all custom to Mason Flats!

What is your favorite home design trend?

This is a hard one because I try not to follow the trends, but to embellish on them. (Like the bullseye shiplap.) My favorite trend at the moment has to be exposed brick, though.

Why do you think someone should live at Mason Flats?

The amenities. Mason Flats has great amenities for the price and location. Lots of shared outdoor spaces! Lots of room to go outside (decks or patios), as well as common outdoor spaces like the firepit to enjoy. This gives homeowners a unique opportunity to meet their neighbors and be friendly with them. The location, too. It is central to EVERYTHING! Close to downtown and the airport. It’s a really great spot!
